a mormon folk horror
about the film
A Mormon Pioneer folk horror. Two plural wives receive a mysterious visitation amidst the blood red stone of Southern Utah.

Our film mines the mystic folk doctrines of the Mormon settlers to portray a demonology never before depicted on screen. We are uniquely qualified to tell this story, as both of our directors are direct descendants of that culture. The Angel serves as a proof of concept for an award winning feature screenplay, The Third Wife, which has received distribution interest from recognizable brands and been spotlighted by the Sundance Institute.

An actor, contortionist, and mime-artist, horror veteran Doug Jones is well known for his many iconic creature roles, including The Shape of Water, Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy 1 & 2, Hocus Pocus, and most recently, What We Do in the Shadows. However, in The Angel, Doug’s character reveals his true face by tearing open the veil to the unseen world.
